It’s actually pretty light and humourous in places, and I found myself hooked from the first line!
Another thing I really liked about this book was how through Purge’s nice array of characters, I got to get a better understanding of the various reasons why different people end up developing eating disorders. What the hell did you eat that for?

I think some readers will get pulled into the deep darkness of Wintergirls; others, readers who turn Wintergirls aside because they don’t want or can’t handle that darkness, might find Purge the book that pulls them in instead.
